Dr. Berry's Velvet Prescription

A fruity, creamy twist on the classic doc

Diet Dr. Pepper's 23 flavors get a luscious upgrade with muddled raspberries, a splash of cherry syrup, and a dreamy cream float. It tastes like a fruit parfait met a soda fountain and they became best friends.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz (1 can), coldDiet Dr. Pepper
  • 5 berriesFresh raspberries
  • 1 tbspCherry syrup (like Torani)
  • 1.5 ozHalf-and-half
  • 0.5 tspFresh lime juice
  • 1 cupCrushed ice

How to make it

  1. Muddle the raspberries with cherry syrup and lime juice in the bottom of a tall glass until juicy and fragrant.
  2. Fill the glass with crushed ice.
  3. Slowly pour the cold Diet Dr. Pepper over the ice to preserve maximum fizz.
  4. Gently float the half-and-half on top by pouring it over the back of a spoon, then swirl with a straw to create a marbled effect.
  5. Garnish with one fresh raspberry on the rim and serve immediately.

Pro tip: Chill your Diet Dr. Pepper in the fridge for at least an hour before making this. The colder the soda, the creamier and longer-lasting the float on top will be.
